Frequently Asked Questions

Permanent Jewelry

  • Permanent jewelry is a piece of jewelry (bracelet, necklace, anklet, etc.) that has been custom fitted to you and then welded on without a clasp to remove it. Once the jewelry is welded onto you, it will remain there for a very long time (and intended to remain there permanently).

  • Permanent jewelry is intended to be long-lasting or, as the name suggests, permanent. However, the specific longevity can vary depending on factors such as the type of jewelry, aftercare, lifestyle, and individual body chemistry.

  • Yes, it is safe. Madison is a certified welder with training in safety protocols for permanent jewelry.

  • The welding process does ignite sparks, but a leather patch is placed between your skin and the welding device. This ensures you're protected and won't feel a thing.

  • Yes. If you need to remove your jewelry for any reason, just a simple snip of some scissors will be enough for most chains to come off. Thicker chains might need jewelry snips. I'm always available to remove your jewelry anytime. You're also welcome to come back in and add or change any charms or connectors to change the style of your piece.

  • You will receive a jewelry cloth from your welder to clean your jewelry from time to time. If your jewelry gets extra dirty, some mild soap and soft bristled tooth brush will do the trick.

We also recommend keeping it free from perfumes, makeup, hairspray, or lotions. If your jewelry does come in contact with these, using the cleaning tips above will reduce the chances of tarnishing over time.

  • No, I currently do not have any age restrictions. I do recommend that you periodically check on how snug the chain is on any young children who have gotten permanent jewelry.

  • Nope! All our metals are gold filled or sterling silver. Both withstand water well, unlike gold or silver plated jewelry.
